My introduction to Brent Mason happened ten-years ago or more when a friend (and player) shared this CD with me. I was amazed by the work. If you're looking for country, this recording is not for you. This recording runs the line along jazz, acoustic, a little Southern rock, and country.I have a number of recordings by favorite guitar players. Some of them work as "hired guns" for session work and concerts. Of those, most of the recordings sound more like extended demos than coherent albums.This is not so with Hot Wired. There is a variety of music and it showcases Mason's talent (which is huge). But, they songs hang together well and the work is tastefully done.If you like well-played guitar instrumental work, this recording could be for you. It will cost you, though, because it is long out of print. Don't make my mistake and wait because I expect the supply of discs to run out.Enjoy... Cayman Moon, Blue Water Girl, and My Little Ballerina are favorite tracks!
